We arrived at the Disney Port Orleans - French Quarter Resort. During a quick bite to eat, Nina got in the "Disney Spirit":
After a swim and getting checked into our room, we decided to take the boat to Downtown Disney for dinner. A Florida thunderstorm twarted that plan though since the boats couldn't run with lightning. We took the bus instead. It was jam-packed with angry people who had apparently been waiting an hour for the bus, and when the bus driver missed a stop, we thought there might be a riot right then and there. The bus driver managed to make a U-turn to get back to the stop, and we eventually made it to Downtown Disney where most of us had a great dinner at the Earl of Sandwich. Nina didn't end up joining us for dinner (see pic below).
Fortunately, the boats started running about the time we were ready to head back to bed, so we had a much more pleasant ride home on the boat. Day one was a bit harried and stressful with all the travel (car, plane, train, bus, boat), but we were all still excited about the days to come.
